As some may rage with the lack of Oscar nominations for Black actors, my gripe is with the garbage films being produced in general.
I doubt last year’s winner for best picture, Birdman, will be talked about fondly ten or twenty years from now. In fact, I don’t think anybody is talking about it now. But, people still talk about The Godfather, Raging Bull, Citizen Kane, and that’s my point. Is it too much to expect Hollywood to produce memorable films in the 21st century that will be still remembered in the 22nd?
I could live without artsy fartsy movies that only impress the 142 people who actually seen them, or Fast & Furious 27.
