Unfortunately, Saturday mornings brings bad news in many parts of the country nearly every week without fail.
CBS Detroit reports authorities say three people were killed when they were ejected from a speeding SUV during an overnight crash on I-94 in Detroit. The one-car accident happened around 1:10 a.m. Saturday on eastbound I-94 near Helen Avenue, just past Mt. Elliott on the city’s east side.Michigan State Police say a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer was travelling at “a very high rate of speed” when the driver lost control, went up the freeway embankment and struck a light pole. The SUV rolled several times back onto the freeway, ejecting the driver, front passenger and one rear passenger. Two of the passengers were pronounced dead at the scene — a 20-year-old female and a male whose age hasn’t been determined — while the third later died at a local hospital.A fourth passenger who was sitting in the back seat had to be extricated from the SUV by firefighters. That person remains in critical condition at a local hospital.
