Trump Making AMERICA Energy Independent: Trump signs orders on Dakota Access, Keystone XL pipelines

 Reuters

President Trump is just kicking ass and taking names to overcome Obama's failures as president.

NY Post reports President Trump on Tuesday signed executive orders to advance the construction of the Keystone XL and Dakota Access oil pipelines, saying the projects would create good-paying American jobs.

“We’ll see if we can get the pipeline built. A lot of jobs, 28,000 jobs,” the president said.
He also signed a separate order requiring that American-made steel be used in the pipelines.

“Going to put a lot of workers, a lot of steelworkers, back to work,” Trump predicted.
Former President Barack Obama killed the proposed Keystone XL pipeline in late 2015, saying it would hurt US efforts to reach a global climate-change agreement.

The pipeline, which would run from Alberta, Canada, to American refineries along the Gulf Coast, needs US government approval because it would cross a national border.

The Army decided last year to explore alternate routes for the Dakota pipeline after the Standing Rock Sioux tribe and its supporters said the pipeline threatened drinking water and Native American cultural sites.
