Obama does not clearly deny Trump Campaign wiretapping occurred

Montclair Film Festival, Flicker

Whoever Obama hired as his spokesman has just created a bigger mess for the ex president.  By stating that President Obama nor any other White House official ordered the surveillance of the Trump campaigns leaves open the possibility the story is nonetheless true.  President Obama was surrounded by likeminded individuals that never needed explicit instructions to do what Obama wanted done.

AOL News reports a spokesman for former President Barack Obama called President Donald Trump's wiretapping allegations "simply false" on Saturday, saying "neither President Obama nor any White House official ever ordered surveillance on any U.S. citizen."

"A cardinal rule of the Obama administration was that no White House official ever interfered with any independent investigation led by the Department of Justice," said Kevin Lewis in a statement released hours after President Trump tweeted allegations claiming Obama ordered a "Nixon/Watergate" plot to tap phones in Trump Tower prior to the 2016 presidential election.

"As part of that practice," continued Lewis, "neither President Obama nor any White House official ever ordered surveillance on any U.S. citizen."
"Any suggestion otherwise is simply false.
While the statement does not explicitly say whether any surveillance targeting Trump Tower occurred, it does claim that neither the president nor his administration made such an order.

President Obama is being very slick by responding  to Trump's allegations in this fashion.  But, the door is till wide open.

To illustrate my point that President Obama never had to expressly order the wiretapping of President Trump to make it happen it happen anyway.  In this famous scene for Godfather ll, Michael Corleone wants his brother Fredo killed.  So he walks into a room and gives his brother a hug and at the same time orders his murder with just one look of his eyes to his assassin.  He never said a a word but the killer got the message
