New York State Trooper shot and killed on domestic violence call by Army soldier accused of killing his wife

I remember a long time I asked my uncle, a retired NYPD police detective, what was the most dangerous situation he faced.
He said without hesitation, a domestic dispute.

NY DailyNews reports a 32-year-old U.S. Army soldier shot and killed his wife and a New York State Police trooper during a domestic dispute at his upstate home late Sunday, according to police and reports.

Gunfire erupted at the Theresa home just before 8 p.m., about 80 miles north of Syracuse. Trooper Joel Davis was shot while approaching the home. He was rushed to the Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, where he died.

State police said Davis, 36, was a four-year veteran of the force. He is survived by his wife and three children.
