Texas woman Daniell Rider freaks out over Hobby Lobby’s raw cotton display

Gimmie a break!
This is really stupid.  How is raw cotton offensive?  She really needs some serious psychiatric help if cotton makes her go bananas.   Oh, was that racist too?

NY Post reports a Texas woman has been getting ridiculed online for being “too sensitive” after she blasted the arts-and-crafts chain Hobby Lobby for selling faux raw cotton stalks — which she found offensive.

“This decor is WRONG on SO many levels,” Daniell Rider posted on Facebook this past Thursday, along with a photo of the phony textile plants.

“There is nothing decorative about raw cotton…A commodity which was gained at the expense of African-American slaves,” she said. “A little sensitivity goes a long way. PLEASE REMOVE THIS ‘decor.'”

  4. This is to the lady who had a problem with the cotton display at Hobby Lobby...
The following was posted by my sister with her permission:

Well this woman that was so offended by a piece of cotton better skip dinner and not eat those red beans and rice cause that will probably make her choke because black people worked in the rice fields. And I'll be dang... she can't have dessert either, cause that mean ole sugarcane at one time was harvested by black people. So she better not eat that chocolate cake. She better be careful when her body is craving that cigarette because it just might blow up in her face, I mean, because, you know, at one time black people picked tobacco too. Where does the stupidity end?! Will her next move be go naked cause clothes are made out of cottonpure stupidity!!!!!

  8. Daniell Rider,How the Hell can you be ashamed and offended by what your ancestors did over 100 years ago. You should be proud of what they did, what they had to do and lived to tell about it or you would not be here. I was born in 1956. As a child, I watched my grandfather plant fields of cotton. He had black tenant farmers that lived on his farm. He paid them a fare wage along with providing them a FREE house to live in. When it was time to pick the cotton, both my grandparents, my father, my brother, (Maw-Maw said that I was too young @ 5 years old) all picked cotton side by side with the black tenant farmers. Maw-Maw left the field at about 11:00am. By Noon, she had fried chicken, country ham biscuits, about 4-5 fresh vegetables, and a dessert that she had made the night before, after Paw-Paw had gone to bed. At noon she called EVERYONE in from the fields for an awesome lunch. The black tenant farmers were not allowed to eat outside under the tree. They were expected to eat at the dining table with the family. Those tenant farmers were not just workers, they were loved as friends of the family. Please, in the name of all that is good, quit bitching and being offended by something that you know NOTHING ABOUT. Please spend your time spreading LOVE, NOT HATE!
