Aaron Boone named new manager of the New York Yankees



Aaron Boone knows baseball and demonstrated his chops on ESPN broadcasts.
  The era of big personality managers is over.  Boone fits the new breed but he has a tough job ahead.   
NY Post reports Aaron Boone was named the next manager of the Yankees, The Post’s Joel Sherman confirmed Friday. He beat out Hensley Meulens, who was considered the other favorite for the job.

Carlos Beltran, Rob Thomson, Eric Wedge and Chris Woodward also had interviewed for the job.
