Mets to announce the hiring of Mickey Callaway as their new manager

I don’t know much about Callaway other than he was the pitching coach for the Cleveland Indians.
He's got good communications skills, knows pitching, and who better to learn the job of being a baseball manager than Terry Francona?
NY Post reports the Mets have made a decision on whom they want to be the next manager.
Mickey Callaway has been offered the job and a deal is being finalized Sunday, The Post’s Joel Sherman reported. The deal is expected to be announced Monday, and Callaway is expected to sign a three-year contract.
Callaway has been the Indians’ pitching coach since 2013. He pitched in the majors for the Rays, Angels and Rangers between 1999 and 2004.

Other top candidates for the job, which opened after Terry Collins resigned amid rampant speculation that he might be let go after the 2017 season, included Mets hitting coach Kevin Long and former Nationals and Indians manager Manny Acta.
