Newsday reports two drugs touted as possible treatments for COVID-19 can no longer be prescribed for people who want them just in case they get sick.An executive order issued by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo this week limits prescriptions of hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine to COVID-19 patients in state-approved clinical trials, and for FDA-approved uses as an antimalarial or autoimmune treatment, and then only for a 14-day supply with no refills.The order came as the state is starting wide-scale trials of hydroxychloroquine in hospitals treating COVID-19 patients. Surging demand for the medications had already depleted pharmacies of the drugs, and nearly 10 other states have also limited prescriptions amid reports that some physicians were self-prescribing drugs for themselves, families and friends as well as still-healthy patients.

ReplyDeleteConsidering that Democrats and Governor Andrew Cuomo believe that CORONAVIRUS not only continues killing New York State Patients but will soon return with much more deaths - it is a crime against every NYS resident t FORBID THE ONLY EFFECTIVE TREATMENT which preventing death! Governor Cuomo is not only forbidding people to be treated but even for research groups he is limiting treatment for 14 days! How this inhumanly cruel, heartless, immoral "murderer" became a Governor and continue to have this position for so many years?! If anyone is truly voting for Cuomo or it is NYS corruption is making him a Governor?! He was already criticized for banning this medication for COVID-19 patients but he ignoring all the complaints and his sadistic restrictions still in effect 5 months later after his questionable claim about Doctors families buying it for prophylactical purposes! How many Doctors in NYS Cuomo believes living and working?! This is Cuomo's corrupt lies! He wants us to die!
