I've been a supporter of
Ruben Diaz for years even though I live outside his district.
Despite being a Democrat in this wacky city, he's a staunch conservative and a Pentecostal minister. He was one a handful of Democrats who fought against Gay Marriage in New York. And he's right on this issue. Gays not only control the city council but they are disproportionally represented in upper level management positions in city agencies throughout the city. That's the dirty little secret.

NY Post reports City Councilmember Ruben Diaz Sr. said Sunday that he’d rather give up his powerful committee assignments than apologize to openly gay Speaker Corey Johnson for his homophobic comments.Diaz Sr. — who was appointed by Johnson to committees on land use, public housing and transportation — again refused to apologize for saying last week that the City Council is “controlled by the homosexual community.”
