Democrats,
or progressives or the woke, whatever they call themselves, promise voters Utopia
if they get elected to office.
Let’s set
aside that there is such a thing as Utopia on earth!
Instead let's
look at a "real world" example of what happened to a city after a
Democrat was elected mayor. Case in
point: New York.
Background
After a
succession of three Democrat mayors, New York was on the brink of bankruptcy in
the early 70s. New York's last Democrat
mayor before Bill de Blasio was elected was David N. Dinkins. Bill de Blasio served on his staff.
Remember

During the
one year term under Dinkins, New York reached its lowest point. 2,600 hundred murders a year under Democrat governance. As a result, even though Democrats have a 6:1
advantage, Republican Rudy Giuliani was
elected mayor of New York in the mid 90s.
What Giuliani accomplished in cleaning up New York has been well documented. But, what also can be said is that he cleaned
up New York after the poor work done by three Democrats.
One of the
first things Giuliani did was to get control and re-established quality of life
laws. The squeegee man were gone.
He believed that a safe city needed to be clean first and foremost as building
block for what came later.
So New
Yorkers weren't allowed to urinate, defecate, drink alcohol in the streets, and
play loud music at all hours of the night.
The drug pushers, prostitutes, porn shops were removed from Times Square!
In time New
York became a safer, cleaner, place to live and visit. Giuliani served two terms. But, New Yorkers remembering how bad it got
under the last Democrat voted for a Republican, Mike Bloomberg for three
terms. Bloomberg built on the work
Giuliani started and made New York a even safer. For 20 years New York enjoyed the benefits of
Republican governance and prospered.
Enter Democrat Bill de Blasio in 2014 who
promised to be the most "progressive mayor" New York ever had. Unfortunately, one of the first things Bill
de Blaio did as mayor was to wipe clean all quality of life laws. As a result, New Yorkers were allowed to
piss, crap, drink alcohol in the streets, and play loud music at all of the
night. De Blaio removed the foundation
that helped New York become the safest big city in the world. Once quality of life laws are gone everything
else crumbled.
In 7 years
De Blasio managed to destroy the combined 20 years New York enjoyed under
Giuliani-Bloomberg. This is not a made
up story. It's the real world. New York's crime rate has tripled. Murders are up, sexual assault has doubled,
car theft is up, graffiti is back up on the walls, and people are fleeing New
York promising never to come back.
Nevertheless,
this Is not an isolated story because the same can be said about how Chicago is
being run into the ground under Democrat Lori Lightfoot. Jacob Frey has destroyed Minneapolis. Ted Wheeler is a disgrace in Portland and what
do they all have in common? They're
Democrats and what they promise has nothing to do with how they actually govern.
Voters have
a simple choice to make because Joe Biden is from the same strip. He's given up control to the same progressive
policies that destroyed New York. Why go there?
