Pitiful Mets lay down, make it easier to justify Mickey Callaway firing

The Mets came into the 2019 season n with high expectations thanks to comments made by the new GM Brodie Van Wagenen.
He proclaimed the Mets are the class of the eastern division.   "Come get us!"  All that is fine and good but the Mets just got swept by the worst team in baseball.  A lot is not working and the manager usually pays the price.

NY Post reports

MIAMI — Come get them.

Come get the vast majority of this Mets roster and haul it to the nearest garage sale, where it can be peddled for pennies on the dollar.

Of immediate consequence is whether Mickey Callaway managed his last game for the team Sunday, in a 3-0 loss to the Marlins, completing a three-game sweep by this Triple-A organization.

The Mets (20-25) lost their fourth straight and were shut out for a second straight game. Callaway is the easy scapegoat, but his players have offered him few favors. It’s the same roster of players general manager Brodie Van Wagenen liked enough in the offseason to proclaim “come get us” to National League opponents.
