Andrew's Big Fail: Cuomo didn’t know coronavirus patients are being sent back to nursing homes

So a nursing home patient tests positive for Covid-19 and gets sent back to the nursing home?
That is ridiculous! Andrew Cuomo won't face any heat over it because the MSM is kissing his ass.  But, this is a very bad decision that occurred on his watch!
NY Post reports New York’s health commissioner on Monday defended a directive that requires nursing homes to readmit residents who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus — as Gov. Andrew Cuomo revealed he didn’t know the policy was in place.
Cuomo was asked about the state’s policy on admitting or re-admitting to nursing homes people who’d tested positive for COVID-19.
“That’s a good question, I don’t know,” the governor said.

  1. Where do you suggest he send them? I think Cuomo is an idiot, but what do you propose HE do about CV+ patients? Stack them up in the hospital hallways? Staying in hospital is predicated on whether or not the patient is ill enough to need hospitalization. If they are not clinically ill, they need to be discharged. Where? To their "home", which for many elderly patients is a nursing home. Most nursing facilities have isolation plans set up for CV+ patients. One of the first thing my community hospital did was get in touch with all the nursing home Medical Directors to formulate a plan for just this concern.
If you think keeping them in hospital is a good idea, you are insane. Hospital acquired infections are a huge cause of mortality in this country and the longer an elderly patient is kept in hospital, the worse the outcome.

  2. Cuomo is being paid to come up with a better policy than to just send them back to the nursing home
