Faux Flag Controversy: Trump declines request to lower flags in memory of Capital Gazette shooting victims

Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley

This is a totally bogus issue!
This attack happened in Annapolis, Maryland.  It's up to the governor of that state to lower the flags at state buildings at half mast.  So what exactly was the mayor of Annapolis asking Trump? He has nothing to do with what the state decides.  This just another dig at President Trump for a local state incident he has nothing to do with.
Baltimore Sun reports President Donald Trump has declined a request from Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley to lower American flags in honor of the fatal shooting of five employees of The Capital newspaper last week.

“Obviously, I’m disappointed, you know? … Is there a cutoff for tragedy?” Buckley said Monday afternoon. “This was an attack on the press. It was an attack on freedom of speech. It’s just as important as any other tragedy.”

Gov. Larry Hogan ordered Maryland state flags to be lowered to half-staff from Friday through sunset on Monday.
