Mother ordered to change daughter's purple gravestone by heatless cemetery

This is ridiculous for the cemetery to take this position and put an extra burden on a grieving family!

9 Honey News reports a mother has been left devastated after being ordered to change her daughter's purple gravestone.

Kirra Rose Sim died in a tragic car accident at only 19 on Father's Day in 2012 when her car and a truck collided on Hermitage Road, Marong near Bendigo.

Since then, her final resting place has proved to be a great comfort to her distraught mother, Simone Anstee, and the rest of the family, who put a lot of thought into how Kirra's grave should look.
With the council's permission, the family also installed a purple chair with the name 'Kirra' on it for public use. It is positioned next to her headstone.

But now, the family have been given just 21 days by Remembrance Parks Central Victoria to change the grave before further action was taken.

And, the thought of disturbing her child's grave has left Ms Anstee unable to sleep.
Remembrance Parks Central Victoria boss Graham Fountain says the only issue is the purple colour choice.

"Every grave and every funeral we have at the cemetery is a tragedy for the family," he told The Age.
However, Kirra's gravesite could inspire others to paint their loved ones' resting places vibrant colours which would not be conducive of the appearance people expect.
