Hundreds of hours of surveillance video has yet to confirm Smollett's account. It doesn't mean it didn't happen. But, many have their doubts, including me. I wish we get a resolution either way. Otherwise people that wanna believe the story will continue to believe it. And the rest who don't, the same way.
Variety reports Jussie Smollett performed Saturday for the first time since it was reported that he was assaulted by two men in Chicago in the early morning hours of Jan. 29. Taking the stage at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, he fought back tears as he said, “I had to be here tonight, y’all. I can’t let the motherf—ers win.”
“I have so many words on my heart,” the actor/singer said, addressing the 400-capacity club after embracing members of his family. “The most important thing I have to say is thank you so much and that I’m okay. I’m not fully healed yet, but I’m going to. And I’m gonna stand strong with y’all… l will always stand for love. I will never stand for anything other than that. Regardless of what anyone else says, I will only stand for love. And I hope that you all will stand with me. So now… let’s do it.”
